Picked Up an Amnesiac CEO

Premise

Bai Zhi and Gu Yunchen start with a one-night stand that neither of them is ready to explain. Picked Up an Amnesiac CEO builds its 101-episode romance on that messy beginning, then adds a memory loss and a rival who steps into the gap. The result is a tangled, emotionally charged story about who gets to be remembered.

The central complication arrives early. Gu Yunchen loses his memory, and his assistant brings in Song Yunong, who takes on Bai Zhi's identity. The drama uses that substitution to stir up jealousy, confusion, and a real threat to the heroine.

Characters

Bai Zhi is the emotional anchor. She is pregnant during much of the story, and the synopsis makes clear that her safety becomes a central concern. She is resilient, but the drama also shows how exposed she is when someone else is wearing her life.

Gu Yunchen is the CEO whose memory is wiped out. His loss makes him vulnerable and also creates a gap that other people can exploit. The drama is interested in what he feels when he cannot remember the woman he may love.

Song Yunong is the schemer who assumes Bai Zhi's identity. The synopsis says she plots against the pregnant heroine, which makes her the clearest villain in the setup. Her presence gives the story its sharpest tension.

Main arc

The story unfolds around the identity swap. Song Yunong's scheme threatens Bai Zhi while Gu Yunchen is unable to tell the difference. The viewer watches the heroine navigate danger without the one person who should be protecting her.

The turning point is an attack. When Bai Zhi shields Gu Yunchen from it, his memories return. That moment reframes the entire relationship, because the protection she offers is the thing that restores his sense of who she is.

After she awakens, the two of them marry. The synopsis moves quickly to that outcome, so the romance resolves through the reunion of memory and loyalty. The 101 episodes give the middle stretch plenty of room for jealousy and suspicion.

Themes & tropes

Amnesia is the core device. A lost memory forces the lead to rely on what others tell him, and the drama uses that dependence to create suspense. The question of who is telling the truth runs through the whole arc.

Second Chance structures the reunion. The couple starts with a one-night stand and then has to rebuild the relationship after memory loss and betrayal. The return of memory gives them the chance to choose each other again.

The CEO setting adds a layer of corporate status without making the story a boardroom drama. Gu Yunchen's position gives him influence and makes him a target, which fuels the plot.

Why viewers watch

Viewers who like amnesia romances will find the setup familiar but well-used. The identity swap is a strong hook, and the threat to a pregnant heroine adds real stakes. The moment of shielding and memory return is the kind of payoff people remember.

It also suits people who enjoy a villain they can openly dislike. Song Yunong's scheming gives the middle episodes a clear antagonist, and the tension rises each time she gets close to the heroine.

At 101 episodes this is a long romance with plenty of twists. If you want an amnesia CEO story with a strong heroine and a second chance at love, this one follows that formula closely.
