Contract with the Don
Contract with the Don is a 30-episode KalosTV short drama. Ava Reed, a young girl from the slums, loses her younger brother Noah, who is framed as a scapegoat for a smuggling case and killed unjustly. Convinced of her brother’s innocence, Ava ventures alone into the underground auction run by Dante Moretti, the feared don who controls the South Port mob. She stuns everyone by revealing the password to the smuggling ledger that Noah mentioned on his deathbed, drawing Dante’s full attention. To uncover the truth behind Noah’s murder, Ava strikes a dangerous deal with Dante and signs a revenge contract. She promises to expose the traitor within his family, while he agrees to help her reopen Noah’s case. Bound by this pact, the two are dragged into a tangled web of crimes and betrayals. Braving dangerous gang forces, corrupt police and scheming high-society figures, Ava never acts as a vulnerable damsel. Smart and fearless, she takes huge risks to gather evidence bit by bit. She eventually uncovers a vicious alliance formed by Luca, Dante’s scheming cousin, Isabella, his political fiancée, and Marco, a corrupt detective. The trio launders money through stolen medical supplies, falsifies autopsy reports and plants fake evidence to frame the innocent Noah. What starts as a mutually exploitative partnership gradually turns into tense, heartfelt affection. Dante initially sees Ava as a mere pawn, yet he grows to admire her courage and honesty. Ava also clears up misunderstandings about Dante and his family amid countless twists. Trapped by a blood oath, she endures public humiliation, arson attacks and malicious frames time and again. With crucial evidence including the black ledger and an ancient family seal, Ava defeats all foes at the family trial and makes them confess their crimes. In the end, Noah’s name is fully cleared. The slums are freed from exploitative protection fees. The revenge contract expires, and Ava establishes a new, fair order independent of any criminal power. Dante steps down from his role as a mob don and decides to pursue Ava on her terms. What began with a quest for revenge finally blossoms into a sincere love story.
