CEO's Dramatic Girlfriend

Premise

Zhao Yimeng finds out her boyfriend is about to marry another woman, and the news hits hard enough that she wants payback rather than tears. Her unlikely partner is Gu Zefeng, whose own girlfriend is the bride. Their shared target gives them a plan: ruin the wedding together. The scheme goes sideways fast. After a night of drinking, the two of them wake up in the same bed, and the plot now comes with a complication neither of them expected. As feelings start to grow, Yimeng learns that Zefeng, who looked broke, is actually the heir to the Gu Group.

Characters

Yimeng is the lead, and the drama leans on her as the wronged woman who refuses to fold. Her anger drives the early episodes, but the synopsis suggests her view of things shifts once Zefeng's background changes what she thought she knew. Zefeng begins as a man with little money and a grudge of his own, which makes him a useful accomplice and a tempting romantic option. His reveal as the Gu Group heir flips the power balance. The bride, Zefeng's girlfriend, goes unnamed in the synopsis, but her wedding sits at the center of the revenge plan. The ex who sets everything off matters mostly as the trigger for Yimeng's decision to fight back.

Main arc

The drama moves in two directions at once. The revenge plot pushes the pair toward the wedding, while the night they spent together pulls them into a relationship neither planned. That tension gives the early episodes a playful, scheming feel, the kind where two people plot side by side and keep ending up in each other's company. Once Yimeng learns who Zefeng really is, the story shifts from a payback scheme to a question of trust and social class. A 99-episode run lets the romance and the revenge share time, so neither gets squeezed. The wedding is likely to be a turning point, and the reveal should change how every earlier scene feels when you look back at it.

Themes & tropes

The CEO label fits because Zefeng's identity as a Gu Group heir gives the romance a wealthy-family edge. The revenge angle comes from Yimeng's refusal to be humiliated by a cheating partner, which places the show comfortably in revenge territory. The drama also plays with the disguised-status idea, where a man seems ordinary until his real background surfaces. The source tags include Serendipity, which describes the accidental night together that sets the plot in motion. Put a wedding, a secret heir, and a plan to wreck a marriage together, and you get a familiar but lively structure that knows its own genre well.

Why viewers watch

If you like romance that starts with a scheme, this one opens with a clear hook. The plan to wreck a wedding gives every early scene a goal, and the wake-up-in-the-same-bed moment pushes the characters into territory they never planned for. Viewers who enjoy a disguised-wealth reveal will get a satisfying turn once Yimeng learns the truth about Zefeng. It makes a comfortable pick for a long evening, with a clear arc and a romance that grows from a shared scheme into something warmer.
