Premise

The night Susan Jenkins loses her family's assets, she is already running. Bertram Lewis has come after her, and everything she owns is seized before she can make sense of what is happening. Just when things look hopeless, a small girl appears out of nowhere and calls on Elias Stewart, the most feared man in Chesterville, to save Susan. The child then announces that Susan and Elias are her parents, which leaves Susan staring at a stranger and wondering what kind of trick this is. The whole series builds around that claim and around the move into the Stewart mansion, where a plot is waiting.
