The Professor's Contract Bride

After overhearing the classmate she had secretly loved for years mock her, a medical student drowns her heartbreak in one reckless night. The morning after, she has no idea how much that single night will cost her. A few weeks later, she discovers she is pregnant, and the baby's father turns out to be her new professor.

Premise

The premise starts with a humiliation and turns it into a crisis. The heroine's heartbreak is real, and the one-night mistake comes from a moment of pain rather than desire. Her pregnancy then drags a private mistake into a very public world of academic hierarchy and family judgment. The synopsis describes the professor as the baby's father, which places a power imbalance right at the center of the story. That imbalance is part of what makes the setup feel tense from the first episode.

Characters

The heroine is the emotional center. She is a medical student who has spent years loving someone who never saw her clearly, and the drama frames her as someone trying to recover her dignity. The professor is the second lead, a man thrust into a role he didn't expect. The classmate who mocked her is the source of the original wound. The synopsis doesn't name every character, so the family and the wider academic circle work mainly as pressure points that test the couple.

Main arc

The story moves from a single night into a long process of adjustment. Once the pregnancy is known, the couple faces family pressure, prejudice, and the slow work of deciding what they owe each other. The synopsis mentions the long road to proving her worth, which suggests the heroine is not just fighting for the relationship but for her standing in a demanding profession. Expect the middle episodes to focus on how the couple's private choices look to others, and how they earn trust one scene at a time. The arc is less about a single twist and more about the grind of rebuilding a life after a mistake.

Themes & tropes

The main theme is self-worth after heartbreak. The heroine's night of drowning her pain is a moment she must learn to forgive herself for, and the drama treats that forgiveness as a slow process. The Pregnancy and Forbidden Love tags point to the two pressures that define the story: a child that changes everything and a relationship that the world may see as improper. The Sweet Romance and One Night Stand tags suggest the tone leans toward warmth, with the early mistake giving way to something softer. Typical of this genre, the professor-student dynamic adds an extra layer of tension, since authority and affection are tangled together. The story asks whether a relationship can start from a bad night and still become honest.

Why viewers watch

Viewers come for the slow-burn repair. A heartbroken heroine, a professor who must step up, and a pregnancy that forces the issue make a compelling hook for an 81-episode romance. The long run gives the couple time to move from awkward obligation toward genuine care, and the family pressure keeps every scene honest. If you enjoy romances built on a rough beginning, this one leans into that appeal. It's a gentle drama with a clear emotional spine, and its strength is watching two people decide whether their bond can outgrow its worst night.
