Everything Talks to Him

Premise

In 1988, Du Yunchuan is trapped in a honey trap on a blind date and pushed into signing an IOU he never wanted. The humiliation turns out to be the moment his life changes, because it awakens a superpower that lets him communicate with all things. He is still just a man in debt, but the ability gives him a way out that nobody around him could have predicted.

Characters

Du Yunchuan is a clever opportunist with a gift nobody else has. He uses it to save people and build wealth, and his personality is more bold than cautious. Yun Xiaojie is the female CEO he rescues with his ability, and the two of them become business partners who share the early success. Xu Wenzhuo is the local bully whom Du Yunchuan humiliates on the way up. Liu Feifei is the beautiful young woman whose family he helps when he cures the poisoned head of the household. The Liu family itself provides a social circle that gives Du Yunchuan a path into higher society.

Main arc

The first movement is a rise from nothing. Du Yunchuan saves Yun Xiaojie with his ability, and the two of them earn a large sum running blind box businesses. Their success is also a public humiliation for the local bully, Xu Wenzhuo. Du Yunchuan then finds a priceless treasure at an antique convention and settles a risky gamble, which adds to his reputation as a man with uncanny luck.

The second movement widens the stakes. After he cures the poisoned head of the Liu family, he wins the affection of Liu Feifei. The romance and the business growth run side by side. The final stretch takes him into the Kunlun Maze with both heroines. The group passes three trials, seizes the supreme treasure, and unlocks the full power of universal command. The synopsis ends by calling him the most legendary supernatural tycoon of the 1980s.

Themes & tropes

The central fantasy is the wealthy rise of an ordinary man who gains a supernatural edge. The CEO element comes through Yun Xiaojie, whose business partnership with Du Yunchuan defines much of the early story. Supernatural powers shape every stage of his success, from the blind box ventures to the treasure hunt in the maze. The fantasy element also gives the business plots a playful tone, since luck and insight often beat conventional strategy.

The setting of 1980s business gives the drama a nostalgic backdrop, and the romance with two women adds a light rivalry without making the plot heavy.

Why viewers watch

Viewers who enjoy a supernatural rags-to-riches fantasy with business triumphs and a treasure hunt will find plenty here. The early blind date humiliation is an effective hook, because it turns a bad night into the start of a legend. The trio's adventure in the Kunlun Maze gives the story a larger scale than the opening business plots. Across 91 episodes, the drama offers a steady series of wins, rivalries and reversals. If you want a light fantasy about a man whose luck and gift turn him into a tycoon, this one follows that formula with energy.
